End of an Era

I have worked in HR since 1984 and became a Fellow of the CIPD in 2000.

I founded the Employee Relations Consultancy Ltd in 1999. During my career I have worked with countless inspiring and amazing individuals. Since I started the business I have been fortunate to work with a variety of wonderful clients across a range of sectors and industries.

Helping clients through difficult HR issues, has always been important to me as well as being able to provide a highly professional service.

I have always enjoyed the EDI training I have delivered to numerous clients over the years. I hope that the training has made people stop and think about acceptable and non-acceptable behaviour at work.

Over the years I have seen so many changes including the introduction of the Equality Act. I have also noticed an increase in the demand for independent investigations into complaints of Harassment and Bullying as well as for Disciplinary cases. The trend is now for even small employers to seek an independent investigator when these issues arise. I find that people now understand that being uncomfortable at work is not something to ‘put up with’ and that employers recognise the need to deal effectively with it. I also welcome the increased emphasis and recognition of mental health issues particularly since the pandemic.

It is now time to retire from ERC and I am looking forward to the next stage in my life and being able to take on new challenges and have new adventures.
